The quake, at a depth of 10 kilometers, had its epicenter at 21.682°N, 96.121°E, in Myanmar. Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat issued an urgent directive for 24-hour monitoring of the situation.
Officials have been instructed to inform locals and tourists about safety protocols in case of a tsunami, monitor warning systems, and follow emergency response plans. The Meteorological Department and National Disaster Warning Center are closely tracking the situation.
