Patong, at 2:00 PM on March 26th, 2025 — Thongchai Theprod, Permanent Secretary of Patong Municipality, led a team of Kathu district officials to investigate complaints about unauthorized sunbeds and umbrellas encroaching on public areas at Patong Beach, Phuket.
Officials spoke with business operators, explaining the violations and issuing fines at the Patong Municipality Office. Operators were instructed to remove all unauthorized sunbeds and umbrellas immediately.
The officials stressed the importance of following regulations to maintain public access and order on the beach.
Business operators were warned that further violations could lead to increased fines or legal action. Authorities aim to preserve the natural beauty of Patong Beach and ensure it remains accessible to the public.
