German Driver Plunges Sedan into Shop in Rawai

On Saturday (March 22nd) at 4:00 A.M., the Chalong Police Station responded to a report of a car crash causing significant property damage. The incident occurred in front of the Siam Chai Electronics Store which is opposite Soi Suksan 1 on the Wiset Road.

At the scene, a BMW sedan was found overturned. The driver, Mr. Moritz, 24, and his passenger, Mr. Anton, 24 both German nationals, managed to remove themselves from the sedan. They both sustained various injuries and were transported to Chalong Hospital by emergency responders.

Additionally, two parked delivery trucks belonging to Siamchai Company were heavily damaged. Other properties affected included a large road sign and various signs and items inside the store.

Investigations revealed that before the crash, the BMW driver was traveling at high speed from Soi Suksan 1. The driver reportedly failed to brake, causing the car to veer across the median and crash into the delivery trucks, other vehicles, and store property.

Authorities are currently examining the driver’s alcohol level as part of their investigation.
