Police Investigate Russian Man Allegedly Working at Tour Booth in Karon

Karon –

The Phuket Tourist Police inspected a tour booth in Karon after they were notified by concerned citizens that a Russian man was allegedly working illegally selling tour packages.

The investigation came after social media concerns this week at a venue located on the Patak Road. The individual in the photograph, Mr. Bodnar, of Russian nationality, holds a NON-B visa for tourism-related business activities.

He also has a legal work permit with the tour company allowing him to manage tourism-related ventures valid until March 2, 2026. His work permit specifies his role as a Marketing Manager and other work not prohibited. Additionally, Mr. Suwit, 56, Thai national, serves as the owner and a salesperson for the company.

Authorities will coordinate with the Phuket Provincial Employment Office to discuss the scope of work for this foreign national. If any legal violations are discovered, appropriate legal actions will be taken. At this time, however, he appeared to be a legal employee. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities involving foreign nationals potentially violating laws by contacting the Tourist Police hotline at 1155.
