Couple Arrested for Stealing from Russian Woman at Patong Hotel

Patong –

A Thai couple was arrested after they stole from a female Russian in Patong.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that over the past weekend they arrested a 24-year-old Thai man and a 33-year-old Thai woman at a room on the Na Nai Road. Seized from them included three rings, three pairs of silver earrings, three silver bracelets, three wristwatches, and three necklaces with pendants. They were taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of theft.

The arrest follows after police received a complaint from a female Russian tourist who reported that her bag containing various pieces of jewelry had gone missing from her hotel room on the Phang Muang Sai Kor Road.

Investigators reviewed CCTV footage and tracked down the suspects, leading to their arrest. The suspects confessed to stealing the items from the hotel room and led the police to recover the stolen goods. The Phuket Express noted that police did not mention how the suspects entered into the Russian’s room.
