Rawai –
An unidentified body was found floating near the Racha Yai Island.
The Chalong Police was notified of the body by a tour boat operator at 9:20 A.M. on Sunday (March 16th). A patrol boat was dispatched to the location between the Coral Island and the Racha Yai Island about five kilometers from Chalong Pier.
They found the body dressed in red shorts and a short-sleeved black t-shirt. The body had started to decompose. It was not reported if the body was a man or a woman.
The body was recovered and brought back to shore. An autopsy to determine the cause of death and identify the deceased’s identity and nationality are being conducted. Preliminary assessments suggest that the deceased may be a foreigner.
Authorities are currently checking with local police stations across Phuket to see if there are any missing person reports, which could lead to further investigation.
