Chinese Man Arrested For Working Illegally at Chinese Restaurant in Phuket

A Chinese man was arrested after he was found working without legal permission at a restaurant in Wichit.

Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that on Monday (March 10th) they arrested MR. LIQUAN, 33, a Chinese man, at a Chinese restaurant in Soi Naka. He was found cooking for his customers.

He provided only a tourist visa to law enforcement officers. He admitted that he did not have a legal work permit as a chef. He said he had worked at the restaurant for two months. He was taken to the Wichit Police Station to face the charge of working without legal permission.

His employer, who was not identified by police, is facing charges of employing a foreigner who does not have a legal work permit.
