Koh Kaew –

A Russian man in his early forties was found dead at a home in Koh Kaew and police believe a drug overdose is at fault.

The Phuket City Police told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the incident at 8:00 P.M. on Sunday (March 2nd) at a house in a Koh Kaew housing estate. They arrived at the house with a doctor and the body was found face down on the floor. A syringe and white power were found on a table near the body.

He was identified only as Mr. Mikhail, 41, Russian national. There was no sign of foul play. His girlfriend, identified only as Miss. Marina, told police that she came back into the house from running an errand to discover his body. An autopsy will be conducted to determine his exact cause of death but at this stage police believed that he suffered an overdose from consumption of an illegal drug.

The white powder near his body would be reportedly tested to identify its contents.
