American Woman Missing after Renting a Jet-Ski off Patong Beach

Patong –

A female American has been reported missing after renting a jet-ski before going into the sea off Patong Beach.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that at 11:15 A.M. on Thursday (February 27th) they were notified from a jet-ski operator of the situation. At 09.25 A.M. Mrs. Nina, 37, an American national, rented a jet-ski.

She was wearing a life-jacket when she went out into the sea. At 09.50 A.M. as scheduled however, she did not return. Jet ski operators and rescue workers went out to find her.

They found only the jet-ski about one kilometer from the beach. Only her belongings and a life-jacket were found on the jet-ski. A boat captain nearby told them that he saw her take off the life jacket before jumping into the sea to apparently go swimming. A search operation was subsequently launched.
