Australian Couple Arrested after Snatching Bags in Rawai, Phuket from Other Foreign Tourists – VIDEO

An Australian couple were arrested after they snatched a mobile phone and a bag from French and Russian victims in Rawai.

The Chalong Police told the Phuket Express. On Wednesday (February 19th) at 9:30 P.M. MR. GWENAEL, 41, French national, and MS. TATUNA, 29, Russian national, filed a report to Chalong police. They told police that two foreign suspects who were on a motorbike snatched a bag while they were walking in front of a convenience store in Rawai.

On the same day at 10:29 P.M. MS. AIGUL, 31, Russian national, also filed a report to police. Two foreign suspects who were on a motorbike snatched her iPhone 14 while she was walking on Rawai Beach

The Chalong Police fianlly arrested two suspects identified only as MR. SAM, 25 and MRS. SUSAN, 36. Both are Australian nationals. They were arrested at an accommodation in Chalong. The suspects did not release an immediate statement or explain why they were stealing from other tourists.

They are expected to face significant legal charges and eventual deportation and blacklisting.
