Phuket, February 16th, 2025 – A Myanmar national was arrested on Saturday, February 15th, following allegations of sexually assaulting a 57-year-old Thai woman in Wichit. The incident reportedly occurred at the victim’s home in Soi Makham Koo, near a construction site.

The victim’s daughter filed a report with Wichit Police after returning home from work around 6:00 P.M. on Saturday. She noticed an unknown man leaving the house and questioned her 57-year-old mother about his identity. The mother, who was alone at the time, told her daughter that the man, believed to be intoxicated, was a Myanmar national. She alleged that he approached her to talk before sexually assaulting her.
Wichit Police acted swiftly, arresting the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Mr. Soe, a Myanmar national, later that same day. He was taken to Wichit Police Station for further legal proceedings. As of press time, Mr. Soe has denied the allegations.
