Nigerian Arrested with Cocaine in Thalang

A Nigerian cocaine seller was arrested in Thalang on Thursday (February 13th).

Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that they arrested a suspect identified only as MR. JOHNPAUL, 37, a Nigerian national, at a rental house in Thep Krasattri. Seized from him was 7.2 grams of cocaine.

He told officers that he allegedly bought the drug from an unknown foreign man in Bang Tao, Cherng Talay to sell to foreign tourists. He bought 2,000 Baht per bag in a total of 12 bags. He claimed he already sold some for 3,000 Baht per bag.

He was taken to the Thalang Police Station to face charges of illegal possession of category 2 drugs with intent to sell. Police are looking into his claims that he had no idea who the person who sold the drugs to him was.
