A wanted female Russian was arrested at the Phuket International Airport for allegedly being involved in fraud and providing bank accounts for online scammers.
Phuket Immigration told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they arrested a 27 year-old female Russian national at the international departure terminal in the Phuket airport. She is a wanted suspect in an arrest warrant issued by the Chanthaburi Provincial Court. She is being accused of fraud committed by impersonation and allowing others to use bank accounts for online scammers.
She was taken back to the Khao Kitchakood Police Station in Chanthaburi. The Phuket Express noted that the Phuket Immigration Office did not release the Russian woman’s name. She also has not released any statement as of press time.
