A Canadian man was found dead inside a car parked near a beach in Karon with a letter, with death by suicide the cause.
The Karon Police told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the incident from a local at 9:00 A.M. on Monday (February 10th) at a parking area near the Nui Beach on the Kata – Sai Yuan Road in Karon. They arrived at the scene to find the parked SUV. The car door was locked but police eventually managed to open the vehicle. Inside, they found the body of a 53 year-old male Canadian.
A typed letter was found inside stating, “This is suicide. I am very sorry for the inconvenience but I have been in a lot of pain krup (A Thai particle for politeness).” The letter also mentioned two numbers of people who could be contacted in Phuket and in the UK.
