At least 70 baby sea turtles were hatched on the Kata Beach in Phuket.
The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that they were notified from a local resident that baby sea turtles hatched on the Kata Noi Beach on Thursday early in the morning (February 6th).
They rushed to the beach to find at least 70 Olive Ridley baby sea turtles were heading into the sea from their nest. Nine of the eggs were not hatched and 13 baby sea turtles sadly died in the nest.
