Karon –
A Tunisian motorbike rider was arrested after he broke through a police checkpoint in Karon.
The Karon Police Chief Colonel Khundet Na Nongkhai told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (February 4th), they set up a checkpoint on the Karon – Patong Road. The foreign rider who was later identified only as Mr. SAMIR, 23, Tunisian national, was riding a motorbike. The traffic police asked him to stop but he was riding the wrong way and fled away at high speed to Patong.
The traffic police chased after him before he finally stopped 300 meters from the checkpoint. He was unable to present a legal driving license to police. He was taken to the Karon Police Station for further legal actions.
