In Phuket, Thailand, Mr. Raywat Areerob has once again been elected as the President of the Phuket Provincial Administration Organisation (OrBorJor), securing his position for another term. The Election Commission of Phuket made the announcement on Saturday, February 1st, revealing that Mr. Raywat garnered 86,616 votes in the recent election.
At 59 years old, Mr. Raywat is a native of Phuket and a businessman by profession. He ran under the banner of the ‘Phuket Yaddai Party’ (Trust Phuket). His political career is extensive, having served as a Phuket Democrat Member of Parliament and previously holding the position of assistant secretary to the Deputy Minister of Public Health. His involvement in politics spans over 35 years.
In the same election, his closest competitor, Mr. Lersak Leenanithikul, who represented the People’s Party, received 44,602 votes. Mr. Lersak is a medical professional, previously serving as the Deputy Director of Phuket Vachira Hospital.
The third contender, Mr. Srithep Udomlarp, ran as an independent candidate and managed to secure 2,228 votes.
