Two Chinese Nationals Arrested For Illegally Working at Lion Café in Rassada

Rassada –

Two Chinese nationals were arrested after they were found working without legal permission at a lion café in Rassada.

The Region 8 Police told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they inspected with a search warrant a lion café which is located on the Raasada Nusorn Road. Three baby lions were found with customers who were taking photos and playing with them.

Mr. Bin Bin, 42 and Mrs. Cherng, 38, both are Chinese nationals who were found working in the café. They were unable to present legal work permits to officers and as a result they were taken to the Phuket City Police Station to face charges of working without legal permission.

The Phuket Express noted that the cafe is the same one that an unlicensed lion cub was found last year at a café in Rassada that belongs to a Chinese national.

However this time police did not mention anything about unlicensed lion cubs and the cafe remains open as of press time.
