Major Fire Damages At Least Seven Houses in Phuket Town- VIDEO

A major fire damaged homes in Phuket Town alarming residents on Monday afternoon (January 20th).

Firefighters from the Phuket City Municipality were notified of the fire in Soi Poon Pon 5 on the Poon Pon Road in Talad Yai, Phuket Town. They and fire fighters from nearby areas arrived at the scene with about 10 fire engines to find lots of smoke which could be seen from a significant distance. It took several hours to control the fire with the Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat personally inspecting and taking command of the incident.

At least seven houses were damaged by the fire. One person sustained minor injuries but no deaths were reported. The cost of damages is as of press time being estimated at a million Baht. The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Forensic Police.
