Electric Daisy Carnival Kicks Off in Phuket With Tens of Thousands of Attendees, Hundreds of Police and Security Ensure Safety

Almost 300 police officers and 300 security staffers are taking care of safety at the Electric Daisy Carnival Concert which started in the United States of America and is being held in Phuket this weekend for the first time in Thailand.

The Cherng Talay Police told the Phuket Express that the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) is being held from January 17th to January 19th at the Boat Avenue Lakefront in Cherng Talay, Thalang.

There are more than 200 officers from various divisions comprised of 102 traffic police, 60 security police, Officers from two Military Protection and Crowd Control Divisions, officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, the Phuket Tourist Police, and the Phuket Immigration Police.

The Cherng Talay Police noted that road users are being advised to avoid using roads nearby the concert if not necessary due to heavy traffic.

An estimated 26,000 tickets had already been sold and organizers anticipated huge demand and sold out crowds for world class electronic dance music artists like Tiesto and Afrojack.
