Two Frenchmen Charged for Assulting Myanmar Man in Patong – VIDEO

Two French Men were arrested in Patong after a video clip of them attacking a man went viral on social media.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that on Tuesday (January 14th) two French men, identified only as MR. SAID, 41 and MR. SOFIANE, 23, presented themselves to the Patong Police. They admitted to police that they were in the viral video clip. They are facing charges of assault causing bodily and mental harm.

Mr. SAID hired MR. AYE, 37, a Myanmar national, and three other Myanmar men to renovate a French restaurant. MR. AYE arrived to work late. Mr. SAID was upset and admitted he hit Mr. AYE in the head before MR. AYE and his team started the work.

Mr. SAID still angrily talked in English to MR. AYE while he was working. MR. AYE told his team he did not want to work and wanted to go back to his accommodation. MR. SAID and his friend then allegedly attacked and used a sharp weapon to assault MR. AYE who tried to run away from them.
