Thailand –
The Thai meteorological Department has issued a warning for provinces in the southern part of Thailand, forecasting heavy rainfall and flash floods from January 15th to January 18th.
The northeast monsoon is strengthening and covering the Gulf of Thailand and in the southern part has caused more rain and isolated heavy to very heavy rains. People should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and overflows especially areas near hills, waterways and basins.
Provinces that will be affected from January 15th to January 18th are Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Trang and Satun.
Provinces that will be affected from January 17th to January 18th are Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.
Waves in the Gulf of Thailand and in the Andaman Sea are up to three meters and higher in the thunderstorm areas. Boats should be proceeded with caution. Small boats are advised to stay ashore from January 16th to January 18th.
