Bomb Blast in Pattani Injures Seven

A bomb explosion near TK Park in Pattani on Jan 13 injured six officers and a Malaysian civilian. The blast, caused by a motorcycle bomb, occurred near the Pattani City Police Station around 8:00 a.m. Emergency responders transported the injured to a local hospital, where one officer is being treated for serious chest injuries while others sustained shrapnel wounds.

The injured officers are part of the Pattani Volunteer Defense Corps, Company 2, and the civilian, a Malaysian national, was in the area at the time of the explosion. Law enforcement agencies have intensified security measures in the vicinity and are coordinating efforts to prevent further incidents.

Investigators have been examining the scene and gathering evidence to determine the motives and identify those responsible for the attack. Security patrols have been increased, and checkpoints have been established to enhance safety for residents and visitors.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to prevent further violence. Residents are urged to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement as the situation continues to be closely monitored.
