Karon– A tragic incident occurred in Karon when a staffer fell from a parasail and died.
A video clip of the fall, which shows the person hitting the sea near Karon Beach, went viral on social media on Friday, January 10th. The Karon Police informed the Phuket Express that the incident happened on Sunday, January 5th.
The deceased, identified only as Mr. Pathomphong, 31, was a staffer who accompanied a tourist on the parasail. He fell from a height of 50 meters before hitting the sea.
Mr. Pathomphong was immediately taken to a hospital, where he was later sadly pronounced dead. Reports indicate that there were strong winds at the time the parasail was being pulled up in the air. Witnesses stated that almost all staffers who go up on parasails with tourists usually do not wear any safety equipment themselves, although they ensure that tourists are equipped with safety gear.
The Karon Police are continuing their investigation into the incident for further legal action.
