TAT Eyes Global Luxury Travelers at International Boat Show 2025 in Phuket

Thai PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra inaugurated the Thailand International Boat Show 2025 at Phuket Yacht Haven Marina on January 9th.

Running until January 12, the event aims to establish Phuket as a premier yacht tourism hub in ASEAN and Asia, while boosting the island’s economy and luxury tourism offerings.

The show features over 100 exhibitors, including more than 50 yachts and superyachts, luxury lifestyle products, and high-end services such as yacht charters, classic cars, private jets, and fine jewelry. Entertainment includes local and international cuisine, live music, community activities, and exclusive yacht parties.

Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool highlighted the event’s potential to attract over 6,000 visitors, generating an estimated 86 million baht. Governor Thapanee also emphasized the focus on high-quality international tourists to elevate Phuket as a Premium Destination.

Phuket’s tourism sector recorded significant growth in 2024, with 12.9 million visitors generating 481 billion baht, a 24% increase from 2023.

Paetongtarn commended these achievements and expressed support for Phuket’s development as a City of Festivals, hosting global events to draw high-spending tourists and establish Thailand as a luxury tourism leader.
