Dugong Found Dead in Thalang

Phuket –

A dugong was found dead near an island in Thalang.

The Thai Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the dead dugong on Wednesday (January 8th) at the Naka Yai Island near the Por Bay in Pa Klok.

The dugong was taken to the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animal Rescue Center in Wichit to find its exact cause of death.

The health and well being of dugongs has been a major topic in South Thailand over the past few months, as we previously covered here at TPN Media, with a rising number of alarming deaths of the beloved sea mammals.
