Kazakhstani Businessman Seeks Help from Phuket Governor Over Alleged Fraud in 300 Million Baht Property Investment with Ukrainian Agency

Phuket – A Kazakhstani businessman has approached the Phuket Governor for assistance after allegedly being defrauded by a Ukrainian agency in a 300 million baht property investment in Phuket.

On Tuesday, January 7th, the businessman and his lawyer met with Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat and relevant officers at the Phuket Provincial Hall to seek help in resolving the matter.

The businessman, who owns a construction business, reported that a Ukrainian individual persuaded him to invest in a luxury apartment project near Layan Beach in Cherng Talay through an agency. The project commenced in 2019 with a capital of 300 million baht and is currently in its second phase of construction.

He claimed that he was not informed about any financial processes or received any profit from the project. He also mentioned issues with both foreign and Thai shareholders, which led to financial problems. Consequently, he filed a report with the Cherng Talay Police and informed his embassy. His lawyer has also filed a case with the Phuket Court under the speculation and partnership act.
