Russian Allegedly Tied Up and Robbed by Fellow Russian at Hotel in Karon

A Russian was allegedly robbed by a Russian suspect at a hotel in Karon on Monday morning (January 6th).

The Karon Police were notified of the incident from MR. ZELIMKHAN, 31, Russian national, at 3:22 A.M.. He told police that on Sunday night (January 5th) at 11:00 P.M. he stayed at a hotel in Karon.

A male Russian suspect knocked on the door before he opened the door. The suspect then allegedly invaded the room and attacked him. He was tied up and threatened by the suspect who was covering his face with a mask.

The suspect talked to another unidentified foreign man on his mobile phone. The foreign man on the phone reportedly asked the victim to give money to the suspect or he would be murdered. The victim allegedly gave him 200,000 Baht.

The suspect took the money before fleeing the room. The victim managed to untied his bonds by himself before going to the Karon Police Station. Police are continuing their investigation, the victim claims to not know the suspect, but police are reviewing any possible connections or how the suspect could have zeroed in on the victim.
