Unidentified Foreign Rider Dies after Motorbike Crash in Kathu

Kathu – A tragic accident occurred on Saturday, January 4th, resulting in the death of an unidentified foreign rider after his motorbike crashed at the infamous Limsan Curve on Wichit Songkram Road.

The Kathu Police informed the Phuket Express that they were notified of the incident at 7:45 AM. Emergency responders and the Phuket Express arrived at the scene to find a damaged rented motorbike with a shop sticker on the road. Nearby, they discovered the body of a male foreign rider with severe head and shoulder injuries. No identification documents were found on him. His body was transported to Vachira Phuket Hospital.

CCTV footage at the curve showed that the motorbike lost control before crashing into the guardrail. The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the road.

Police are working with the motorbike rental shop to identify the rider and inform his embassy and family.
