Seven People Die in Surat Thani Pickup Truck Crash, Four Kilometers from Fatal Tour Bus Crash

All people in a pickup truck died in a crash after New Year’s Day which was only four kilometers from a fatal tour bus crash on New Year night.

According to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) Surat Thani Office, the accident took place on the highway Road No. 41 in Pa Way at 7:00 A.M. on Thursday (January 2nd).

The pickup truck was traveling from Chumphon heading to Trang. It has been reported that the pickup truck driver lost control before crashing into a tree. Four people have been pronounced dead at the scene, tragically including two year-old twin boys. Three other people were later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Chai Ya Police are continuing their investigation to find the exact cause of accident. This was the second major accident in Chai Ya within 12 hours on the same road.
