South Korean Tourist Missing After Long-Tailed Boat Capsizes Near Pha Ngan Island

Surat Thani – A South Korean tourist has gone missing after a long-tailed taxi boat capsized near Pha Ngan Island, while five foreign passengers, four Thai passengers, and three crew members have been rescued.

The Koh Pha Ngan Police informed the Phuket Express that they were notified of the incident at 4:00 AM on Sunday, December 29th. The accident occurred 40 meters from Rin Beach, the famous beach known for the Full Moon Party. The taxi boat had just departed from Rin Beach in Baan Tai and was heading to Yuan Beach when it capsized.

Rescue efforts successfully saved twelve individuals, including five foreign passengers, four Thai passengers, and three crew members. However, one South Korean passenger remains missing. Search operations have been launched, but as of press time, the South Korean tourist has not been found.
