PRESS RELEASE:
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a 24-hour forecast for December 22, indicating that a moderate high-pressure system or cold air mass is advancing over Northeastern Thailand. The weather system is expected to extend to the Northern, Central, and Eastern regions, including Bangkok and its surrounding areas, resulting in cooler temperatures accompanied by strong winds.
Upper Thailand is forecast to experience a temperature decline of 1-2 °C in the coming days. The Northeastern and Northern regions will experience cool to cold conditions, with high mountains and peaks potentially reaching freezing temperatures. Cooler mornings are anticipated in the Central and Eastern regions, including Bangkok, while the upper Southern region is expected to experience a distinct chill during the early hours.
Mountainous regions are expected to experience cold to freezing conditions, with frost formation possible in certain areas. Residents in these regions are advised to prepare for the temperature changes and take necessary precautions to protect their health. The TMD warned that dry air and strong winds increase the risk of fire incidents, calling for extra caution and preventive actions.
