Five People Injured after Pickup Truck Crashes into Tuk Tuk Taxi in Phuket, Brake Failure Blamed

Kamala – Five people were injured after a pickup truck collided with a Tuk Tuk taxi on the Kamala-Patong Road on Tuesday, December 17th.

Kamala Police were notified of the accident and arrived at the scene to find an overturned pickup truck and a damaged Tuk Tuk taxi. The drivers, Mr. Issarayos, 52, and Mr. Pracha, 45, sustained various injuries. Additionally, three passengers in the Tuk Tuk taxi, identified only as Ms. Chithima, 38, Ms. Marisa, 32, and Mr. Arther, 40, were also injured. All five individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The pickup truck driver informed police that his vehicle allegedly experienced brake failure, causing him to lose control while descending a hill at a curve.

Police are still investigating as of press time.
