Two Myanmar Workers Found Dead after Landslide on Samui Island

Two Myanmar workers have been found dead after a landslide in Maret on Sunday (December 15th).

Mr. Chatchai Manee, the Senior Samui Administrative Chief Officer told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the landslide at 4:00 A.M. at a work camp in Soi Hima Thong.

The landslide hit the work camp near an under construction building where two male Myanmar workers had gone missing. A search was launched by rescue teams and officials but sadly the two workers were found dead buried under the landslide.

It has been reported of heavy rain on Samui Island during the past few days.

The names of the workers were withheld pending family notification.
