Phuket –
A man surrendered himself to the police after he shot his mother-in-law to death in Koh Kaew.
The Phuket City Police was notified of the incident at 2:10 P.M. on Thursday (December 12th) at a cannabis shop in Soi Koh Kaew 23. Emergency responders and the Phuket Express quickly arrived at the scene.
The injured party was identified by the police only as a 44 year-old Thai woman. She had sustained severe injuries from a bullet wound. She was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. A bullet was found on the ground nearby. Police checked CCYV footage at the scene.
The suspect later presented himself to the Phuket City Police. He was identified only as Mr. Natjipong, 27. He told the police that the victim was his mother-in-law and they used to argue often. On the day in question he was drinking alcohol inside the cannabis shop.
She allegedly showed her middle finger to him and verbally abused him. This started an argument before he fired a single gun shot at her with a handmade handgun.
He then called the police to inform them that he shot her and later went to the police station. The suspect is facing charges of carrying a gun in public without permission and murder. He was described as cooperative with police.
