Patong Carnival Officially Marks Start of Phuket High Season

The 38th Patong Carnival was marked as the official opening of the Phuket tourism high season.

The event was launched at Patong Beach on Sunday (December 8th) and was led by the Thai Labor Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn and the Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat.

Governor Sophon told The Phuket Express that Phuket tourism has generated about 400 billion Baht this year. The number is nearly the same as five years ago in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic. Next year the number is expected to reach 450 billion Baht.

The Labor Minister Pipat added that the Thai government has supported tourism as well as developed labor which is needed in the tourism industry.

The 38th annual Event is being held from December 8th to December 10th at Patong Beach from 10:00 A.M. onward. This year is under the theme ‘Phuket Memories of a Lifetime.’
