Suspect Arrested After Stealing Over 56,000 Baht From Patong Shoe Store

A suspect was arrested after he stole money from a shop near Patong Beach.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that MR. LE SY SON, 25, a Vietnamese national, filed a report to police on Tuesday (December 3rd). He told police that a thief stole money from his shop that sells bags and shoes.

The suspect had entered the shop as a customer in the morning. He asked to have help to look for a pair of shoes but did not buy anything before he left the shop. A staffer later found that the cash box which had 56,030 Baht inside had disappeared. CCTV footage at the shop recorded the incident.

At 7:30 P.M. on the same day, the Patong Police arrested a suspect identified only as Mr. Aroon, 22, from Nakhon Ratchasima, at a rental room on the Sawadi Raksa Road in Patong. Seized from him was 13,670 Baht of stolen money. He admitted to police that he stole the money from the shop. He was taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of theft.
