Man Dies after Backhoe Overturns on Mountain in Phang Nga

Phang Nga –

A man died after a backhoe overturned while he was digging on a mountain in Mueang Phang Nga.

The Phang Nga Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) told the Phuket Express that they were notified of the accident over the past weekend in Bang Toei.

They arrived at the scene to find the overturned backhoe on the rock mountain. One person had been reported missing. The missing person was identified by officers only as Mr. Nawaphon, 49, the backhoe driver.

A search was launched until night time but due to rain was paused and continued in the morning when his body was sadly found under the backhoe. Officers are checking to see if the mountain digging was legally permitted.
