Dugong Found Dead in Krabi

Krabi –

A dugong was found dead near an island in Nuea Klong.

The Thai Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) told the Phuket Express that a dugong was found dead near a pier at the Pu Island (Crab Island) in Koh Sri Boya over the past weekend. An autopsy was conducted on Monday (November 18th).

She was a female teenage dugong. Her body was still fresh when she was found. No outside wounds were found on her. Some seagrass was found inside her intestines and no other objects were found. Her cause of death is diseases from lung and heart issues before she drowned.
