Fourteen People Arrested Selling Floating Lanterns at Patong Beach

Fourteen people have been arrested after they were found selling floating lanterns at Patong Beach on Loy Krathong day Friday (November 15th).

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that they arrested a total of 14 people at Patong Beach who were selling floating lanterns at Patong Beach.

They were taken to the Patong Police Station to face charges of selling floating lanterns on a public walkway. The Phuket Express noted that the Patong Police did not reveal their names and ages.

Meanwhile, the Patong Municipality has warned the public that no fireworks or floating lanterns are allowed for any event as the high season approaches, unless special approval is given by Patong officials, with punishment strictly being enforced.
