Kamala Restaurant Manager Arrested for Theft of Precious Items Worth Over a Million Baht

Kamala, Phuket – In a shocking breach of trust, a female restaurant manager has been apprehended by the Kamala Police for stealing valuables amounting to more than one million Baht from her employer.

The Phuket Express reports that Ms. Sofia, a 33-year-old guesthouse owner, contacted the Kamala Police over the weekend to report the disappearance of several high-value items. Among the stolen goods were diamond rings, luxury brand watches, and gold jewelry, all kept in a secure box within her guesthouse.

Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, suspicion immediately fell on Ms. Mam, the 38-year-old manager of the restaurant located within the guesthouse premises. Originally from Nakhon Sawan, Ms. Mam confessed to the theft during police interrogation. She revealed that she had sold one of the items for 70,000 Baht and had sent the remaining valuables to her hometown via parcel.

Acting swiftly, the Kamala Police, led by Chief Colonel Somsak Thongkleang, intercepted the parcel before it reached Nakhon Sawan. The items were successfully retrieved and returned to Ms. Sofia. However, the police did not provide any information regarding the item that Ms. Mam had already sold.

Ms. Mam now faces charges of theft and remained in custody as of press time.
