Full Moon Party on Pha Ngan Island Draws Thousands as Security Heightened

PRESS RELEASE:

Earlier on Thursday (November 14th), a large group of international tourists boarded the speedboat Lom Phra Ya at Wat Na Phra Lan Pier in Koh Samui, Surat Thani. They headed to Thong Sala Pier in Koh Pha Ngan for Full Moon Party and the Loy Krathong celebrations at Rin Beach.

Local authorities, including Koh Samui Police, the Tourism Police, and administrative officials, were present to ensure the safety and security of the tourists. Plainclothes officers were also deployed to monitor the situation and ensure a smooth departure for the visitors.

At Thong Sala Pier in Koh Pha Ngan, a joint team of Koh Pha Ngan Police, the Tourism Police, and local administrative officers worked together to ensure the safety of travelers. Additional support came from the Special Branch Police, who were keeping a watchful eye.

The atmosphere on Koh Pha Ngan was lively, with many tourists arriving early for the Full Moon Party, which coincides with the traditional Loy Krathong celebrations on November 15th. Hotels and resorts along Rin Beach were fully booked. More tourists are expected to arrive by speedboat from Koh Samui for the event.

Authorities estimate that between 7,000 and 10,000 tourists will attend the Full Moon Party, with arrivals expected in waves throughout the day.
