Driver Dies After Trailer Truck Crashes into Passenger Bus in Phang Nga

Phang Nga – A tragic accident occurred on Saturday night, November 9th, on the main Phet Kasem Road near a U-turn in Tha U. The Thakua Thung Police reported that a trailer truck plunged into a passenger bus, resulting in a deadly fire.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find the trailer truck engulfed in flames. The fire was eventually extinguished, but the trailer truck was completely destroyed. Nearby, a damaged passenger bus was found, though no injuries were reported among the bus passengers, and no further details about the passengers were provided.

In the cab of the trailer truck, police found the burnt body of the driver, identified only as Mr. Peerawat. According to the police, Mr. Peerawat was driving the truck, which was carrying rubber from Nakhon Sri Thammarat to Phuket. His girlfriend was also in the truck with him.

The accident occurred when the bus was waiting to make a U-turn, and the trailer truck slammed into the back of it, causing the truck to catch fire. While Mr. Peerawat’s girlfriend managed to escape, he was tragically trapped inside and unable to get out.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident and the circumstances leading up to it.
