An intoxicated taxi motorbike rider who chased foreign passengers out of a mobile application taxi car was charged by police.

A video clip showing a taxi motorbike rider forcing foreign passengers out of an application taxi car in Patong has gone viral on social media this week.

Now for the update:

The Patong Police informed the Phuket Express that an unidentified taxi motorbike rider was summoned to the Patong Police Station this week immediately after the incident. He admitted to being intoxicated and underwent an alcohol breath test, which showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.75 milligrams percent, slightly over the legal limit of 0.50.

The taxi rider faces multiple charges, including:
– Drunk riding
– Not wearing a helmet
– Riding without a license
– Failing to provide a copy of the motorbike’s documentation
– Not paying the annual motorbike tax
– Using a personal vehicle to transport tourists as an illegal taxi

The Phuket Express noted that the Patong Police did not disclose personal details about the rider.

Additionally, the Patong Police mentioned that the female car taxi driver involved should file a report to pursue further legal action against the motorbike taxi rider.
