Two Taxi Motorbike Riders Detained After Drinking Alcohol at Taxi Stall in Patong

Patong – Two taxi motorbike riders in Patong were taken into brief custody after being found drinking alcohol at a taxi stall. The Patong Police informed the Phuket Express about the incident.

A video clip showing the riders drinking alcohol while waiting for customers at the end of Bangla Road went viral on social media on Tuesday, November 5th. Police tracked down the two taxi motorbike riders and brought them to the Patong Police Station.

The riders were identified only as Mr. Chanachai and Mr. Jirawit. Police informed them that their behavior was inappropriate for taxi riders. Urine drug tests were conducted, and no illegal substances were found. Both riders promised the police that they would not drink alcohol while waiting at the taxi stall or while servicing customers. The Phuket Express noted that no legal action has been taken against them.
