Thailand Awarded “Most Popular Destination” at ITB Asia 2024 in Singapore

PRESS RELEASE:

Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports Mr. Sorawong Thienthong and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Governor reinforced Thailand’s commitment to sustainable tourism and garnered accolades at International Tourism Exchange, ITB Asia 2024, in Singapore.

TAT showcased Thailand’s sustainable and responsible tourism initiatives, aligned with the Government’s “Ignite Thailand’s Tourism” vision. The Thailand Pavilion featured distinctive attractions, including the “Five Must-Do” experiences, which spotlighted Thailand’s unique charms in both renowned and lesser-known destinations. During the event, Thailand earned the “2024 Global Partner Award – Most Popular Destination” from Trip.com, reflecting Thailand’s popularity.

Last year, over a million Singaporean tourists visited Thailand, with 747,994 arrivals from January to October. The top destinations included Bangkok, Songkhla, Phuket, Krabi, and Pattaya. For 2024, TAT aims to attract over one million Singaporean visitors, with projected tourism revenue of more than 48 billion baht. Targeted segments include cross-border and “Fly & Drive,” travelers, health and wellness seekers, sports tourists (focusing on golf, cycling, marathons, and Muaythai), youth, and cruise passengers.
