Boat Crew Member Missing After Falling From Fishing Boat Near Panwa Cape in Phuket, Believed Alive

Phuket – A boat crew member has gone missing after falling from a fishing boat near Panwa Cape. The incident was reported to the Phuket Express by the Royal Thai Navy Third Area Command.

On Wednesday, November 6th, an officer from the Phuket Fisheries Checkpoint notified the Royal Thai Navy that Mr. So, a 37-year-old Myanmar national, fell into the sea at 1:15 A.M. The unidentified boat captain immediately initiated a search for him and reported the incident to officials. The Royal Thai Navy launched a search operation that continued until noon.

Mr. So’s wife informed the authorities that her husband had contacted her, stating that he had swum to a nearby island but was unsure which one. The Navy suspects that the island might be Kaew Noi Island. However, despite their efforts, Mr. So was not found on the island. He was unable to maintain contact because his mobile phone battery died, raising questions about how the phone remained functional after falling into the sea.

Boat operators near Lon Island, Coral Island, L Island, Kaew Noi, and Kaew Pissadan Island have been alerted and are assisting in the search for the missing crew member.

The search for Mr. So continues as authorities remain hopeful for his safe recovery.
