Gunman Arrested after Injuring Man in Rawai

Phuket – A gunman was arrested after opening fire on a man in Rawai on Friday, November 1st. The Chalong Police reported the incident to the Phuket Express.

The police were notified of the shooting at a convenience store near Soi King Patthana on Sai Yuan Road in Rawai. Upon arrival, they found bloodstains on the ground extending 700 meters from the scene. The injured man had already been taken to a nearby hospital.

The victim was identified by police as Mr. Sitthiphon, 28, sustained bullet wounds to his head and hand. Witnesses reported that he ran into the convenience store from Soi Patthana 1 seeking help.

During the investigation, police discovered that the victim had asked for money from the suspect’s brother, who had borrowed from him. The suspect, identified as Mr. Nakawat, 30, was arrested at a nearby house. He told police that after a verbal argument, he allegedly threatened the victim with a gun before they started fighting. During the struggle, the gun allegedly accidentally discharged, injuring the victim.

The police are continuing their investigation to gather more details and ensure justice is served.
