Illegal Excavation Discovered on Mountain in Sakoo, Thalang

Thalang, Phuket – Phuket Vice Governor Ronnarong Thipsiri announced the discovery of an illegal excavation on a mountain in Sakoo, Thalang. The unauthorized digging was found in Moo 2 on privately-owned land. The individual responsible for the excavation was not the landowner, and no one was present at the scene when officials arrived.

During the inspection, officials noted that the soil in the area is soft and several large rocks have started to move, posing a significant risk to the nearby residents.

Under Thai law, the punishment for unauthorized land excavation includes up to one year of imprisonment or a fine of up to 50,000 Baht, or both. The government has filed a report with the Sakoo Police to ensure legal action is taken against those responsible for the illegal digging.
