Phuket –

A South Korean male suspect was arrested with six kilograms of crystal methamphetamine valued at 1.8 million Baht at the Phuket International Airport.

The Phuket Customs Office told the Phuket Express that earlier this week they arrested a South Korean male suspect at the International airport. The arrest followed after relevant officials were notified from a concerned citizen that illegal drugs were being smuggled from Thailand to abroad by a foreign passenger.

The suspected luggage was x-rayed before officers found suspicious items inside. They found 30 boxes of soaps with crystal methamphetamine hidden in the containers. The drug weighed in total six kilograms and was valued at 1.8 million Baht.

The Phuket Express noted that personal details of the suspect were not released by relevant officials. The suspect did not release any statement as of press time and is facing charges of illegal smuggling of category 1 drugs and illegal possession of category 1 drugs.
